Your consistency is broken. Here is how to fix it.

Every founder has heard the same advice: "Just be consistent." Here is what nobody adds to that sentence: consistent at what?

Consistently posting the wrong message to the wrong audience just gets you ignored more reliably.

Let us ground this in a South African reality. A recent study by the Digital Marketing Association of South Africa found that 78% of small businesses maintain active profiles on four or more social platforms, yet only 23% report meaningful business outcomes from their efforts. That is a lot of noise for very little signal. You are posting, your competitors are posting, everyone is posting. But the numbers show that most of it is not working.

Consistency is a multiplier. It multiplies whatever you are already doing, including the things that are not working.

If your message is off, posting it every day just means you are wrong more efficiently. If you are targeting the wrong person, showing up daily just means you are annoying the right people faster.

In South Africa, 84% of people check local listings and profiles before they call. If your profile is active but your message is mismatched, you are signalling unreliability before you even get a chance to pitch.

Before you ask "how do I post more", ask "is what I am posting built for the person I want to reach?" That question changes everything that comes after it.

Professional-services buyers do not respond to gimmicks. They respond to evidence and understanding. If you are a consulting firm, your audience is not scrolling Instagram looking for a laugh. They are looking for proof that you understand their problem better than they do.

At Ten 15 JT, we work with founder-led professional-services firms. We do not guess. We build positioning and content around how your clients actually choose an advisor. That is a very different starting point from "what should we post today?"

South Africans spend about nine hours and 37 minutes online each day, well above the global average of six hours. Your audience is drowning in content. They do not need more. They need better.

They need something that speaks to their specific situation. Something that acknowledges the reality of doing business in this country. Something that does not waste their time.

That is where strategy beats consistency. A single piece of content built for the right person will outperform a hundred posts built for nobody.

We recently rebuilt the email strategy for a client and nearly doubled their open rates in under 90 days. We did not just send more emails. We changed what we sent and who we sent it to.

We applied the same strategic approach to a targeted email audience and yielded a 6.8% conversion rate. The industry average for cold traffic sits between 1% and 3%.

That is the difference between consistency and strategy. One is a habit. The other is a system.

Before you schedule that next batch of posts, take a step back. Look at who you are trying to reach. Look at what they actually need. Build your message around that.

Posting more is not the answer. Posting better is. Then be consistent.

At Ten 15 J.T., this is the distinction we build into every engagement. Not just content. A strategy that compounds.
